What does being a conservative mean to you?
I often hear fellow Republicans talking about being a conservative (and not a liberal). What does that actually mean to you? Do you feel that the Republican party is conservative? What about social vs fiscal conservatism?
Public Comments
- The republican party is no longer fiscally conservative. With corruption, oil, and just a number of other scandals, it is just barely socially conservative.
- When I hear conservative I think, Greed, Corruption, Vanity, Gluttony, Wrath, Envy, and Pride. Which party do you honestly think is more greedy? Conservatives Which party is more corrupt? Easy on, conservatives Which party thinks everything is about them and not the greater good? Conservatives. Which party wants everything for themselves (Gluttony)? Conservatives Which party wants wars in Iraq and elsewhere (Wrath)? Conservatives Which party is jealous of their neighbors and wants what they have more (Consumerism/Envy)? Conservatives Which party is more prideful and claims they are the true party of America? Conservatives So basically i think of the seven deadly sins. Except they really don't exemplify lust to be fair.
- Being a conservative means promoting small, unintrusive governement. Being conservative means protecting individual liberties. Being conservative mean being fiscally responsible, eliminating worthless spending and earmarks, low taxes, and economic freedom. The Republican party has strayed away from these principles as originaally promoted by Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan. Ron Paul is the only true conservative remaining in the Republican party. Moreover, I believe that a true conservative practices libertarianism. Less government intrusion on social descisons, and low taxes and free enterprise on fiscal descisons. This country is screwed with the politicians we have now. Ron Paul is our only hope. Ron Paul in 2012!
- Having outdated political views coupled with severe mental illness.
- Being conservative means no skirts above the knee and no low cut shirts.
